Definition: Explains the meaning of the word
Example: The jeans were expensive. No one could afford them they cost so much.
Antonym: The author gives an example to show the opposite meaning of the word.
Example: It is important not to waste resources; we should conserve them.
Synonym: The author gives another word that has a similiar meaning to the unknown word.
Example: The meal was savory or delicious treat.
Restatement/General/Explanation: A restatement clue sums up an idea.
Example: Cal's endurance had improved. He could ride his bike for hours without getting tired.
